Job Summary
We are looking for our Indian client a Mobile Automation Test Engineer. The role is suited to a QA professional with hands-on experience in mobile application automation, particularly with Appium for Android and iOS. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable with programming, API testing, CI/CD, defect tracking, and Agile testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for mobile applications.
- Build and maintain mobile automation scripts using Appium for Android and iOS applications.
- Use Java, Python, or JavaScript to develop and maintain automation code.
- Work with Selenium/Appium-based automation frameworks and reusable test components.
- Create and maintain test cases and automation suites using TestNG or JUnit.
- Use Maven or Gradle for project builds and dependency management.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Perform API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or Swagger where required.
- Log, track, investigate, and follow up on defects using JIRA, Azure Boards, or similar tools.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow established SDLC and STLC processes.
- Analyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, and work with development teams to identify root causes.
- Document test results and collaborate with QA, development, product, and project teams to improve application quality.
Required Technical Skills
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in software testing with strong exposure to Mobile Automation Testing.
- Hands-on experience with Appium for Android and iOS automation.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Selenium/Appium automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of TestNG, JUnit, Maven, Gradle, and Git.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC/STLC processes.
- Experience with API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or Swagger.
- Working knowledge of defect tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure Boards.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience automating both Android and iOS mobile applications.
- Experience creating reusable and maintainable mobile automation frameworks.
- Exposure to API and backend validation as part of mobile application testing.
- Experience integrating mobile automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to cloud-based or remote mobile device testing environments is an advantage.
Required Skills

- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Ability to understand requirements and convert them into effective test scenarios.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.
AI Experience
AI experience is not specifically required for this role. Familiarity with AI-assisted testing or developer productivity tools may be useful but is not mandatory.
Managerial Experience
Formal people-management experience is not mandatory. The role is primarily hands-on and focused on mobile automation and QA execution.
Operational Experience
- Experience working within software testing and release processes.
- Experience maintaining automated test suites and investigating failures.
- Experience working with CI/CD environments and source-control workflows.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management processes.
- Experience collaborating with developers and QA teams in Agile projects.
Qualifications
UG: B.Sc, B.Tech/B.E., B.C.A., or equivalent qualification in any specialization. Relevant practical testing experience will be considered based on client requirements.
Certifications
Relevant Appium, Selenium, mobile testing, QA automation, or Agile certifications are optional and may be an advantage.
Experience
2–4 years of relevant software testing experience with strong Mobile Automation Testing exposure.
