We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Commerce Cloud Engineering Manager (SFCC) to lead a team of SFCC developers and build scalable eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), backend development, integrations, and Agile delivery, along with proven experience in managing engineering teams.
This role involves leading development, improving engineering processes, collaborating with product teams, and ensuring high-quality software delivery for enterprise eCommerce platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Engineering Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of Salesforce Commerce Cloud engineers.
- Create a collaborative and high-performance development environment.
- Plan and manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical resources.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and career development of technical team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and coordinate with HR and leadership teams.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud Development
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable backend solutions on Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and code quality for eCommerce platforms.
- Manage SFCC integrations with third-party systems and APIs using RESTful services, OCAPI, and custom cartridges.
- Guide teams on best practices for SFCC architecture and development.
Agile & Scrum Delivery
- Promote Agile and Scrum best practices within the development team.
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint retrospectives.
- Track team velocity, sprint progress, and project delivery timelines.
- Encourage a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaboration with Product & Business Teams
- Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and set priorities.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and development plans.
- Participate in product roadmap planning and solution design discussions.
- Ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into development cycles.
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Implement strong software testing and quality assurance practices.
- Ensure the team follows unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing standards.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and release readiness.
- Promote a culture of quality, early defect detection, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Improve development processes, code reviews, testing frameworks, and deployment practices.
- Stay updated with the latest Salesforce Commerce Cloud technologies, web development trends, and industry best practices.
- Lead engineering improvements and change management initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) architecture and backend systems
- Experience with ISML, JavaScript, Demandware Script, Controllers, and SFRA
- Knowledge of OCAPI, RESTful APIs, and third-party system integrations
- Experience with custom cartridges and complex eCommerce implementations
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git and Jenkins
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer Certification is a plus
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud development (SFRA, Pipelines, Controllers, Demandware Script)
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering or development teams
- Experience delivering large-scale eCommerce platforms
