Senior Scrum Master

Company Overview

We are a talent acquisition and staff augmentation firm, and we are currently hiring on behalf of one of our clients, an organization in the healthcare and enterprise technology space. Our client is looking to onboard a Senior Scrum Master across multiple locations in India for a fully hybrid role that can be offered on a full-time or contractual basis, depending on the candidate’s preference and eligibility.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master with around 8 years of experience who has worked closely with senior leadership and is comfortable taking on decision-making responsibilities. In this role, you will guide and mentor multiple Scrum teams through Agile best practices, help deliver high-quality products, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. You will work closely with senior leaders, influence strategic decisions, and ensure the team’s work stays aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Scrum Process Leadership

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across multiple teams.
• Ensure teams adhere to Scrum/Agile principles and best practices.
• Proactively identified and resolved obstacles impacting team productivity and project progress.

Strategic Alignment & Collaboration

• Worked closely with Product Owners, VPs, Directors, and other senior stakeholders to maintain alignment between team execution and business strategy.
• Support senior leaders in making strategic decisions by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Team Mentorship & Development

• Develop Agile capabilities across teams by mentoring Scrum Masters, facilitating knowledge sharing, and promoting effective Agile practices.
• Encourage a learning-oriented environment that supports knowledge sharing, skill development, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the liaison between development teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations.
• Lead communication and reporting to senior management on progress, risks, and outcomes of the Scrum teams.

Decision-Making Support

• Collaborate on decisions regarding project scope, timeline, and resources with senior leadership.
• Lead efforts to resolve high-impact issues and risks that affect team performance and project success.

Agile Transformation & Continuous Improvement

• Led Agile transformation initiatives across the organization to enhance collaboration, delivery efficiency, and adoption of Agile practices.
• Continuously assess and improve team performance through Agile metrics such as velocity and burndown charts.

Cross-Team Coordination

• Facilitate coordination between multiple Scrum teams in large-scale projects.
• Implement best practices for cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Proven ability to drive decision-making and change in complex organizational environments.

• Demonstrate expertise in addressing team challenges, facilitating constructive discussions, and maintaining positive team dynamics.

• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

AI Experience

• Comfort using AI-assisted tools for sprint reporting, retrospective summarization, or backlog analysis is a plus.
• Awareness of how AI tools are being introduced into Agile delivery and reporting workflows.

Managerial Experience

• 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in software development environments.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with executive leadership and senior stakeholders to provide strategic guidance and support informed decision-making.
• Experience working in large-scale, cross-functional projects.

Operational Experience

• Advanced understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Experience leading Agile transformations or large Agile initiatives within an organization.
• Track record of facilitating coordination across multiple Scrum teams in large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, including experience in large-scale, cross-functional environments.

Certifications

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or equivalent.
• SAFe Agilist or other relevant Agile certifications (preferred).
