Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Oracle database systems. You will ensure optimal database performance, security, and availability to support critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (including RAC, Data Guard).
  • Manage database users, roles, and privileges.
  • Monitor database performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Tune database parameters for optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures (e.g., encryption, auditing).
• Backup and Recovery:
  • Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
  • Perform regular backups and restore procedures.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery plans.
• Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot performance problems, data corruption, and other database errors.
• Security:
  • Implement and enforce database security policies.
  • Monitor database activity for suspicious behavior.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8 to 9 years of professional experience as an Oracle DBA.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database concepts (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, RAC, Data Guard).
• Experience with Oracle performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with database security best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS for Oracle).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Shell).
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools.
• Oracle certifications (e.g., OCA, OCP).
