We are a talent acquisition and staff augmentation firm, and we are currently hiring on behalf of one of our clients, an organization in the healthcare technology space. Our client is looking to onboard a Nodejs Developer across multiple locations in India for a fully remote role that can be offered on a full-time, part-time, or contractual basis, depending on the candidate’s preference and eligibility.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Node.js Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications that power our client’s web and mobile products. In this role, you will build and integrate RESTful APIs, work closely with frontend and product teams, and ensure the backend is fast, secure, and reliable. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving performance challenges, writing clean and well-documented code, and staying current with the evolving Node.js ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and manage efficient backend infrastructure and business logic leveraging Node.js, while upholding standards for speed, security, and code integrity.
- Create and architect RESTful API endpoints, connecting third-party services and backend infrastructure to power both web and mobile application experiences.
- Work cross-functionally with frontend developers, product managers, and design teams to align user interface elements with server-side functionality, delivering a unified and reliable user experience
- Deliver maintainable, reusable code with comprehensive documentation, consistently applying coding standards, version control best practices, and structured development processes.
- Improve overall application speed and scalability by diagnosing performance issues, streamlining database queries, and integrating caching techniques for optimal efficiency.
- Apply expertise in MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL to design data models, fine-tune queries, and ensure reliable, consistent data across systems.
- Integrate security controls and data privacy safeguards into backend systems to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
- Carry out thorough testing and troubleshooting to address production incidents, supporting stable and reliable application operation.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and support deployment activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging Node.js technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in Node.js-based server-side development, with proficiency in frameworks including Express.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Solid grasp of asynchronous programming concepts, including common pitfalls and effective solutions to address them.
- Experience using version control systems, particularly Git.
AI Experience
- Comfort using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to speed up development, debugging, and documentation is a plus.
- Awareness of how AI tools are being introduced into backend development workflows, though hands-on AI/ML experience is not required for this role.
Managerial Experience
- Track record of conducting thorough code reviews and coaching junior developers to strengthen their technical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across frontend, product, and UI/UX teams to align on functionality and delivery timelines.
Operational Experience
- Experience with production troubleshooting, debugging, and ensuring application reliability and scalability.
- Familiarity with deployment activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track record of optimizing performance through caching, query optimization, and bottleneck resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Node.js Developer or in a similar backend development role.
Certifications
Relevant Node.js, JavaScript, or cloud platform certifications are a plus, though not mandatory.
