Job Summary
On behalf of our India-based client in the Gaming & Entertainment Technology sector, we are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright automation testing. The ideal candidate has 9-12 years of experience in test automation, framework development, API testing, and CI/CD integration, and can independently drive automation initiatives to ensure high-quality software delivery. Remote role with full-time, part-time, and contract engagement options.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright
- Create and execute automated test scripts for web applications
- Plan and perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end tests to identify defects and ensure expected application behavior.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and define test strategies
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines
- Assess test execution results, identify software issues, and coordinate with development teams to drive defects through to resolution.
- Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to automation best practices
- Ensure test coverage, quality metrics, and continuous improvement of testing processes
Required Skills
- 9-12 years of experience in software testing and QA automation
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of Web UI automation testing
- Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA
- Strong SQL and database validation skills
AI Experience
- Knowledge of AI-assisted testing approaches, such as automated test generation, adaptive test scripts, and intelligent defect management, will be considered a plus.
- Interest in applying AI-assisted tools to expand automation coverage and improve testing efficiency
Managerial Experience
- Experience mentoring junior QA team members and contributing to automation best practices
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive automation initiatives and influence quality standards across the team
Operational Experience
- Experience integrating automation suites with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience analyzing test results, identifying defects, and coordinating resolution with development teams
- Experience maintaining test coverage and quality metrics as part of continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)
- 9 to 12 years of relevant hands-on experience in software testing and QA automation, with strong Playwright expertise
- Evaluate test results, troubleshoot defects, and coordinate with developers to investigate and resolve identified issues.
Certifications (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
- ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent QA certification
- Any relevant automation or API testing certification is a plus
