We are at present hiring on behalf of one of our valued clients based in India, and are looking for resources to be deployed on a remote engagement.
Job Summary
On behalf of our India-based client in the Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) Technology sector, we are seeking a Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in both manual and automation testing. The role requires flexibility to work across functional, regression, and exploratory testing, with automation frameworks for web, API, and mobile applications. This is a remote role, offered as full-time/part-time/contractual.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently drive functional and regression automation testing projects
- Design and execute manual test cases for functional, regression, and exploratory testing
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright with C#, Python, or TypeScript
- Perform ad-hoc and exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues
- Automate functional, regression, and smoke tests for web and API layers, with accurate effort estimation
- Recording and documenting using test management tools – test results, defects, and reproduction steps
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure requirement clarity and test coverage
- Track and report quality metrics such as defect density, test coverage, and automation ROI
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Optimize automation scripts for scalability and maintainability
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote testing best practices
Required Skills
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance, including a minimum of 5 years specializing in test automation across enterprise applications.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, with hands-on experience in Agile/SAFe environments
- In-sprint automation strategy and script delivery experience
- Proficiency in Playwright automation using C#, Python, or TypeScript
- Proven experience in REST/SOAP API testing using tools such as Postman, with automation capability
- Hands-on experience with SQL queries, including joins and views
- Experience testing both mobile and web applications
- Proven working experience for CI/CD and test management on Azure DevOps
- Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest, NUnit, MSTest, or Playwright Test
- Strong experience with Git (branching strategy, check-ins, conflict resolution, merging)
- Ability to perform DB testing, query writing, and data retrieval using connection strings during automation
- Understanding of security testing principles and tools
AI Experience
- Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or equivalent AI tools to develop and debug scripts for faster delivery
- Proficiency with generative AI for creating test scenarios, synthesizing test data, and performing data validation and UI comparison
- Experience using Generative AI to create test cases, test scripts, execute runs, and generate testing reports
- Experience in validating AI models for their performance and accuracy.
- Knowledge of testing AI applications, agents, and chatbots, and validating output quality
- Familiarity with frameworks such as DeepEval, RAGAS, and PromptFoo
- Knowledge of prompt engineering to create efficient, reliable prompts
- Familiarity with AI-based testing tools for predictive defect analysis
Managerial Experience
- Not a people-management role by default; however, candidates should demonstrate the ability to mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices across the testing team
Operational Experience
- Experience integrating automated tests and managing test execution schedules
- Experience tracking and reporting quality metrics (defect density, test coverage, automation ROI)
- Familiarity with test management tools for defect logging and traceability
- Experience maintaining test documentation, scripts, and reusable automation assets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Computer Science or a related field
- 5–10 years of professional QA experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on expertise in automation testing using industry-standard frameworks and tools.
- Has an ability to work independently and effectively within remote, distributed, and cross-functional teams while delivering high-quality testing outcomes.
Certifications (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
- ISTQB or equivalent QA/testing certification
- Any relevant automation, cloud, or Generative AI testing certification is a plus
