Job Summary
On behalf of our India-based client in the Banking & Financial Services sector, we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with expertise in banking and financial services. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience working on digital initiatives, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-driven solutions. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, optimize processes, and support delivery across various banking platforms. This opportunity is open as a Remote opportunity and is available for full-time, part-time, and contractual engagement models.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end business analysis activities including requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation
- Collaborate with business, product, and technology teams to translate requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Perform process analysis including AS-IS and TO-BE workflows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Support project delivery across different methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews (where applicable)
- Assist in the implementation of digital and process transformation initiatives within banking systems
- Work closely with QA and business users to support testing activities including UAT planning and execution
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders across business, operations, compliance, and IT teams
- Create and maintain key documentation such as BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and functional specifications
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and support mitigation planning
- Recommend process improvements aligned with business objectives and customer experience goals
Required Skills
- Minimum 8 years of overall experience, with at least 6 years in a Business Analyst role
- Experience in Retail Banking would be advantageous
- Domain knowledge in banking and/or financial services
- Proven expertise and record in working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments
- Strong understanding of business processes, requirements lifecycle, and documentation standards
- Experience in system implementation, integration, or transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with customer-facing and/or internal banking systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Capacity to work individually on multiple projects and to manage all projects simultaneously
Good to Have
- Exposure to digital banking platforms (web/mobile)
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in banking
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar
- Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, or Agile-related certifications
AI Experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted documentation, requirement analysis, or process-mapping tools is a plus
- Interest in applying AI-driven insights to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities
Managerial Experience
- This role does not carry direct people-management responsibility; candidates should demonstrate strong stakeholder management and the ability to facilitate communication across business, operations, compliance, and IT teams
Operational Experience
- Experience supporting UAT planning and execution in coordination with QA and business users
- Experience maintaining BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and functional specifications
- Experience identifying risks, issues, and dependencies, and supporting mitigation planning
- Experience supporting digital and process transformation initiatives within live banking systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (relevant technical or business degree preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of overall experience, with at least 6 years in a Business Analyst role within banking/financial services
- Skilled to work individually in a remote mode, but is open to work with spread out team as well when required.
Certifications (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
- CBAP or CCBA certification
- Agile-related certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe)
