About the Role:
As a Senior Technical Program Manager in AGI Data Services, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and delivery of critical data services that power Amazon’s AI initiatives. You will be responsible for leading large-scale, cross-functional projects, collaborating with engineering teams, product managers, and data scientists to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Lead complex technical programs from inception to delivery, including defining project scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Technical Leadership: Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical challenges, identify solutions, and drive technical decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to align on project goals and priorities.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks proactively, developing contingency plans to ensure project success.
- Communication: Effectively communicate project status, risks, and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve program management processes and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making and optimize program outcomes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in program management, delivering complex technical projects.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional projects.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline.
- Experience with machine learning and AI technologies.
- Experience with data engineering and data pipelines.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
