We help companies staff up quickly, and right now we’re recruiting for a client of ours in the healthcare and life sciences technology space. They need a DevOps Engineer, for Remote role for full-time, part-time, or contract.
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer with 3-8 years of experience who’s comfortable owning the pipeline end to end — from writing infrastructure as code to keeping containerized workloads running smoothly in production. You’ll be working across cloud platforms, CI/CD tooling, and Kubernetes, and generally making sure deployments happen fast and don’t break things.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Design and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems across development and production environments.
- Work across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) to provision, configure, and maintain infrastructure.
- Write automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline repetitive tasks.
- Manage source control workflows using Git, including branching strategies and code review practices.
- Monitor systems for performance, availability, and security, and respond to incidents as they come up.
- Apply networking and security best practices across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployments and reduce release friction.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or Cloud Engineering.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and hands-on experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and their capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with source code management and version control systems, particularly Git.
- A good understanding of core networking, security, and system monitoring concepts.
AI Experience
- Comfort using AI-assisted tools to speed up scripting, troubleshooting, or documentation is a plus.
- Awareness of how AI/automation is being introduced into DevOps workflows, though hands-on AI/ML experience is not required for this role.
Managerial Experience
- This is primarily an individual contributor role; prior team-handling experience is not required.
- Comfortable collaborating closely with development teams to smooth out release and deployment processes.
Operational Experience
- Experience keeping production infrastructure stable, secure, and monitored around the clock.
- Track record of managing infrastructure as code across cloud environments.
- Familiarity with incident response and troubleshooting under time pressure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MS/M.Sc, MCA, or M.Tech) in a related field is a plus, though not mandatory.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, System Administration, or Cloud Engineering.
Certifications
- AWS/Azure/GCP DevOps or Cloud certifications are a plus, though not mandatory.
