Job Summary
We are looking for experienced Python Developers to support our client’s technology and data-focused projects in India. The role is suited to developers with strong Python fundamentals, a solid understanding of data structures and object-oriented programming, and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
The selected resource will work on large-scale data processing pipelines that support the development and training of machine learning algorithms. The role also involves writing quality code, reviewing existing implementations, debugging issues and working with the wider engineering team to improve technical solutions.
This is a remote opportunity. Resources may be engaged on a full-time, part-time or contractual basis depending on project requirements and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Python-based solutions for large-scale data processing requirements.
- Build and support data pipelines used for preparing and processing data for machine learning algorithms.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient Python code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality and development practices.
- Identify technical issues, debug Python code and troubleshoot application-related problems.
- Analyse problems and implement practical solutions based on project requirements.
- Work with relevant Python libraries, frameworks and tools used in data processing and machine learning projects.
- Stay informed about relevant developments in Python technologies and evaluate their applicability to ongoing work.
- Collaborate with developers and other project stakeholders to deliver assigned work within agreed timelines.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Python.
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with Python development tools, libraries and frameworks.
- Working knowledge of data processing concepts.
- Ability to debug, troubleshoot and improve Python applications.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, Pandas and Dask.
- Exposure to NLP libraries such as spaCy and NLTK.
- Working with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and PyTorch.
- Building or supporting data processing pipelines.
- Basic experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript for frontend development.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of relevant Python development experience.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a project team.
- Attention to code quality and maintainability.
- Willingness to learn and work with evolving technologies and project requirements.
AI Experience
- Experience working on data processing pipelines that support machine learning algorithms will be relevant.
- Exposure to machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn or PyTorch will be an advantage.
- Experience with NLP libraries or machine learning workflows may be useful depending on the client project.
Managerial Experience
Not Mandatory. This is primarily an individual contributor role. Previous team-handling experience is not required. The candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with developers and other technical stakeholders.
Operational Experience
- Experience developing and maintaining Python applications or services.
- Experience debugging code and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Ability to participate in code reviews and follow development quality practices.
- Exposure to data processing, data management or machine learning workflows will be useful.
- Ability to manage assigned development work and deliver within agreed timelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant practical experience and demonstrated Python development capability will also be considered.
Certifications
Relevant certifications in Python, data science, machine learning or cloud technologies may be an advantage but are not mandatory.
Experience
3+ years of relevant experience in Python development. Candidates should have strong hands-on Python programming skills along with knowledge of data structures, OOP and problem-solving.
