Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced PL/SQL Developer for database development and maintenance for our Indian client. The role is suited to professionals with strong hands-on experience in Oracle and PL/SQL. Candidates with PostgreSQL experience may also be considered if they are comfortable adapting to an Oracle environment.
The selected resource will work on database-driven components supporting enterprise applications, including enhancements and maintenance of existing and established systems. This is a remote opportunity that can be offered as full-time/part-time/contractual engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and enhance database components using Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Work on enhancements and maintenance of existing enterprise products and established systems.
- Analyse database structures, stored procedures and SQL queries to support application improvements.
- Work with complex queries and database objects while maintaining application stability.
- Apply database performance tuning concepts and work with DBAs to address performance issues.
- Understand existing codebases and implement changes without affecting system reliability.
- Troubleshoot database and application issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Support production environments when required.
- Follow coding standards, documentation practices and established software development processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, QA and operations teams.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and PL/SQL.
- Good understanding of SQL and complex query development.
- Experience developing and maintaining stored procedures.
- Strong PL/SQL development skills.
- Knowledge of database triggers.
- Experience with database performance tuning.
- Ability to analyse existing database structures and established codebases.
- Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with enterprise or production database environments.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with PostgreSQL and ability to adapt to Oracle environments.
- Experience with Oracle 11g.
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with legacy or established database-driven applications.
- Understanding of database performance optimisation and troubleshooting.

- Experience with application enhancements and maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis.
- Experience coordinating with DBAs, engineering, QA, product and operations teams.
AI Experience
Not Mandatory. No specific AI experience is mentioned in the available requirements. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools may be useful depending on the client project.
Qualifications
- Any Graduate with relevant hands-on experience in Oracle and PL/SQL may be considered.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field will be an advantage.
Certifications
No specific certification is mandatory based on the available requirements. Relevant Oracle or database certifications may be an advantage.
Experience
4–6 years of relevant experience in PL/SQL and Oracle database development.
