Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer with 6+ years of software engineering experience to support our client in the United States. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on full-stack engineering across distributed microservices, cloud platforms, databases, containers, and modern programming languages. The ideal candidate should be comfortable leading technology initiatives, mentoring engineers, collaborating with product teams, and evaluating technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and provide technical direction to engineering teams.
- Design and develop solutions using distributed microservices and full-stack architectures.
- Build robust cloud-based solutions that address business and regulatory requirements.
- Work with JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go as required.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases and select suitable data technologies.
- Design and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Use AWS and other cloud technologies to build scalable and reliable applications.
- Collaborate with digital product managers and business and technology stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their practical use in engineering initiatives.
- Mentor developers and contribute to engineering knowledge sharing.
- Participate in coding, code reviews, and technical evaluations when required.
- Support security, regulatory, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Promote technical innovation and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
Required Technical Skills
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with full-stack software development and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, Python, SQL, or related programming languages.
- Experience with HTML and CSS.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration technologies.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-based application development.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with open-source relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience with Elasticsearch.
- Exposure to emerging technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-focused environments.
- Experience contributing to technical communities and engineering best practices.
AI Experience
AI experience is not listed as a mandatory qualification. Exposure to Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies is beneficial, particularly for productivity, engineering innovation, or business transformation initiatives.
Managerial Experience
The role includes technical leadership, mentoring, and leading a portfolio of technology projects. People-management experience may be relevant depending on the client team structure.
Operational Experience
- Experience delivering software in fast-paced, collaborative, iterative environments.
- Experience supporting cloud-based applications and distributed systems.
- Ability to work across development, product, architecture, and technology teams.
- Experience working with regulatory or compliance-driven technology requirements.
- Ability to evaluate code and technical solutions and support engineering quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered based on client requirements.
Certifications
No mandatory certification is specified. Relevant cloud, software engineering, Kubernetes, or architecture certifications may be an advantage.
